ABOUT US

LUKE Patterson

Property Manager, Estimator, Accountant & Shop Manager

Years in the Field: 22
Roots: Cedar Falls

Luke wears a lot of hats at PCD, and with 22 years of industry experience under his belt, he handles it all with ease. He is a pro who truly thrives on novelty and creative challenges. While many might prefer a predictable routine, Luke's absolute favorite projects are the ones PCD has never attempted before—the kind that start with a homeowner saying, "I have this crazy idea." For Luke, the most rewarding part of the job is partnering with clients from that very first meeting, guiding the project through the design phase, and ultimately seeing their original vision come to life.

Off the Clock: When he isn't managing the shop or balancing the books, Luke loves traveling, hitting the golf course, and trying out new foods. Most of all, he enjoys cheering on his kids from the sidelines at their sports games. His life’s soundtrack right now features Niko Moon, Morgan Wallen, Forrest Frank, and HARDY.

Katie Patterson

Owner, Designer, & Multitasking Champion

Years at PCD: 13
Roots: Born and raised in Waterloo/Cedar Falls

If you need to know who wears the hats at PCD, it’s Katie—she’s the Owner, Designer, Marketing Director, Secretary, Cleaner, and Administration all rolled into one! Over her 13 years with the company, her absolute favorite milestone is the design presentation. There is nothing quite like the rush of a client saying, "Wow, I never would have thought of that!" Katie loves re-imagining spaces to perfectly match a homeowner's lifestyle, with a particular soft spot for Kitchen Remodels.

Off the Clock: When she isn't transforming homes, Katie is likely fueling up with wood-fired pizza, hunting for thrifty decor treasures, or relaxing on her front porch with a cup of coffee. She also loves a good nature walk, journaling, and gathering with her family to play games or watch Survivor—all while soundtracked by the country tunes of Ella Langley and Morgan Wallen.

Marcus Boldy

Shop Manager

Hello, my name is Marcus! I grew up in the small town of Panora, IA on the west side of the state. I completed a Bachelor’s degree at UNI in 2019 and have continued to live in the Cedar Valley since college. What I enjoy most about the remodel industry and PCD is the ability to learn so many new things! I love getting to see the way things were built before we get into a project and the updates that we are able to do. There is always something to learn and grow in. I also enjoy seeing a client’s face light up throughout the process! For leisure activities I enjoy anything outdoors, from disc golfing to camping and hiking, and spending time with my wife. My favorite food is sushi and I love to chat about it too!

Derrick Arnold

Project Manager

Years in the Field: 13 (5 years with PCD)
Roots: Independence, IA

Derrick brings over a decade of deep industry expertise to the PCD team. As a Project Manager, he is driven by the thrill of the build, especially when a project calls for a bold statement piece that truly transforms a home. For Derrick, the ultimate reward of his work is the moment everything comes together and he gets to watch a customer's dream officially come to life.

Off the Clock: When he’s not managing timelines, Derrick loves hitting the golf course, packing up for a camping trip, or just enjoying quality time with his family. If you catch him with his headphones in, there’s a very good chance he’s listening to Red Clay Strays.

McKenna Kruger

Design Assistant

Hello! My name is McKenna Kruger, I grew up in Clarion IA. My hobbies include spending time with friends / family at the lake, playing guitar and piano, traveling, and enjoying the little things life has to offer! I recently graduated from UNI with my bachelors in Interior Design. What I enjoy most about working with PCD is that everyday we do something different and I love how satisfying it is to bring existing spaces to their highest potential. I love to cook and my favorite food is pasta of any kind and salmon.

Gavin Thomsen

Carpenter

Hello, I am Gavin Thomsen and I'm originally from Nicollet MN. I recently moved to Cedar Falls August of 2023. I enjoy my job here at PCD and my favorite part of the job is getting to do something new day to day. When I'm not working I enjoy golfing and playing basketball.

Ethan Huntington

Carpenter

Hello I am Ethan Huntington. I'm originally from New Hartford but I am currently living in Parkersburg. Working for PCD is great! My favorite part about the job the day-to-day variety. When I am not working you can find me hunting, fishing, or golfing.

Semir Sehic

Carpenter

Years in the Field: 11 (About a year with PCD)
Roots: Evansdale

With 11 years of diverse construction experience under his tool belt, Semir keeps things precise as a PCD Carpenter. He thrives on the sheer variety of the job—relishing the fact that every day brings a new challenge and things rarely get repetitive. His absolute favorite projects are the dramatic, full-gut remodels where the team takes a space down to the studs and builds it back better than ever.

Off the Clock: For Semir, life outside of the hard hat is all about family. He loves spending every spare moment making memories with his wife and daughter. When he needs a good lyric to power through the day, Dax’s "God Can You Hear Me?" is his go-to track.

Cooba Patterson

Laborer

Years at PCD: 1
Roots: Poland!

Bringing an international flair and a hard-working attitude all the way from Poland, Cooba is a key part of the PCD muscle. He’s been with the team for a year, and his favorite part of the gig is simple: learning something brand new every single day. When it comes to the builds, Cooba loves tackling additions and seeing a home quite literally grow.

Off the Clock: Cooba keeps just as active outside of work, whether he's hitting the rugby pitch, heading to the golf course, or packing his bags for his next travel adventure. If you see him on-site with headphones in, there's a solid chance he's blasting "Far Behind" by Candlebox.

Chad Howard

Site Supervisor

Years in the Field: 8 (9 months with PCD)
Roots: Carlisle

Chad may be one of the newer faces at PCD, but he is a seasoned pro with eight years of industry experience. As a Site Supervisor, Chad is the guy you want on hand when things get detailed; his favorite aspect of any project is diving into intricate finish work that requires a sharp eye and a steady hand.

Off the Clock: Chad’s appreciation for detail and precision carries right over into his hobbies, where he loves spending time detailing vehicles to absolute perfection. When he’s working or relaxing, he likes to set the vibe with the electronic, atmospheric sounds of M83.

Brandon Shimp

Site Supervisor

Years in the Field: 25 (1 with PCD)
Roots: Waterloo/Dunkerton

Brandon brings a massive quarter-century of construction experience to the PCD crew. As a Site Supervisor, he loves a good cabinet installation and knows exactly what it takes to keep a project running smoothly. He is also highly appreciated for his refreshing honesty about the best parts of the job: Fridays, paydays, and half-days!

Off the Clock: Brandon doesn't sit still when the weekend hits. He is an avid fan of motocross, woodworking, camping, and fishing. He also takes immense pride in maintaining a pristine lawn while listening to the rugged sounds of Zach Bryan.
